Host Cambodia held a drawing ceremony, dividing the table of men's and women's football at the 32nd SEA Games at 3pm.

At the 32nd SEA Games, there are 10 countries participating in men's football, including: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Timor Leste, Philippines and Laos.

These 10 teams are divided into four seed groups. Accordingly, the host Cambodia is in the first group with Vietnam, the team that won the last two SEA Games. Indonesia and Thailand are in the second seed group. The third seed group includes Malaysia and Myanmar. The remaining four teams include the Philippines, Singapore, Laos and Timor Leste in group four.

Men's football divided 10 teams into two groups, played in a circle to calculate points and then selected the top two teams of each group to enter the semi-finals. Cambodia as the host will be in Group A, competing at the Olympic Stadium with a capacity of about 70,000 seats. Meanwhile, Vietnam is in Group B playing at Prince Stadium with a capacity of about 15,000 seats. The final and bronze medal match took place at Morodok Techo National Stadium (60,000 seats). Group A will play on April 29, May 2, May 7 and May 10, respectively. Group B will be played on April 30, May 3, May 8 and May 11. The semi-finals will take place on May 13, and the final will take place on May 16.

Women's football has 9 countries participating in the competition. Group one includes host Cambodia and defending champion Vietnam. Group two includes Thailand and the Philippines, group three includes Myanmar and Singapore. Laos is in group four, while Indonesia and Malaysia are in group five. Women's football will be played at two locations in Phnom Penh, Army Stadium (8,000 seats) and Smart RSN (5,000 seats) also from April 29 to May 16.
