Sneaking into the NBA Finals, "Fake Clay" was permanently suspended by Golden State Warriors

During the Golden State Warriors' championship chase in the playoffs in 2015, 2017 and 2018, YouTube star BigDawSTV sneaked into Golden State Warriors' home court posing as Clay Thompson many times to shoot funny photos and videos.

However, Game 5 of the recent NBA Finals may be the last time Warriors fans see the character. Minutes before the Golden State Warriors' game with the Boston Celtics, real name David Gurley revealed he was permanently banned from Chase Center.

On Twitter, BigDawSTV claimed it was banned after five layers of protection, "those who are willing to let me through without asking for identification documents". The man also claimed he was in the ring and shot for about 10 minutes.

The character expressed his repression of Chase Center organisers when he actually paid $10,000 for venue tickets but was later banned due to "security negligence." Gurley said he didn't get a refund either.

In documents released by BigDawSTV, the reason he was banned was that he had passed through the Chase Center staff's door without showing a ticket or valid identification.

Whether he bought tickets or not, he was banned for life from the NBA, NBA 2K Games, WNBA and games at Chase Centre, Thrive City and Kaiser Permanente.

For now, Chase Center organizers have not confirmed the ban, but many Golden State Warriors fans confirmed they saw David Gurley near the stadium that morning. Some people even mistakenly thought it was the real Clay Thompson and asked to take a photo with them.
