Surprisingly at the beginning of the tour de France 2022
Lampard finished first in his first individual stage of 13.2 km in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 15 minutes and 17 seconds, and Belgian cyclists won the race for the second time in Grand Prix (including Tour de France, Vuelta, Spain) and Giro d 'Italy).
Just before the opening of the 2022 Tour de France, it rained heavily in Copenhagen. According to Reuters, this is also the reason why many big names have performed poorly. Van Aert, the heaviest candidate in the first stage, finished only runner-up, five seconds slower than his compatriot Lamparte. Emirates Team's Tadej Pogacar-who aims to win a third consecutive Tour de France title-is third.
Another candidate, Filippo Ganna of Ineos Grenadiers, finished only fourth. Meanwhile, Primoz Roglic-the cyclist who finished second at the 2020 Tour de France and won the Vuelta a Espana three times in a row-even finished eighth.
"I beat the great Wout van Aert," Lampaert said proudly after winning his debut. The 31-year-old Belgian cyclist admitted he hadn't thought about finishing first before entering the race. "The Tour de France has the world's top cyclists and I'm ahead," he said.
At yesterday's Copenhagen circuit, Dutch champion Bauke Mollema started the pace, but was soon overtaken by compatriot Mathieu Van der Poel before receding from Group One again. Roglic was three seconds slower than Vanderpoel as Slovenian cyclists raced aggressively and safely in dangerous corners in heavy rain.
Halfway through, Van Aert speeds up to the leading group. But the advantage belongs to drivers who start later, and when the weather is fine, the track will become drier. Forty-five minutes after Van Aert started, Lamparte entered the race and completed the route in 15min 17sec.
"Lampat is an expert in short-term games and I am happy for him," said Van Aert, who suffered a knee injury before the game. "Today, I played well and didn't feel pain. But it was still disappointing to get second place."
Ahead of the start of the 2022 Tour de France, authorities searched the vehicles and rooms of Bahrain Victory team staff and riders as French prosecutors launched a preliminary investigation into allegations of the use of banned substances. Police also raided their homes on 27 June before heading to Denmark.
Today, the 2022 Tour de France continues its second stage, with the 202.5 km flat track from Roskilde to Nieberg, Denmark.
