Tchouameni: 'Mbappe hay hơn Messi'
In an interview after the 2022 World Cup semi-final on the evening of December 14, midfielder Antoine Griezmann said: "Messi is the best player in the world right now".
When asked about Griezmann's statement, midfielder Tchouameni smiled and replied: "In my opinion Mbappe is better. Mbappe will show why he is the best player in the world in the upcoming final."
Tchouameni thinks that playing in the World Cup final has been his dream since childhood, and it is even more amazing when competing with Messi in this match. "Argentina has Messi, but there are still 10 other players playing," the Real Madrid midfielder added. "So the final will be very difficult for France."
Tchouameni made his debut for the French team in September 2021, and then occupied the starting position at the 2022 World Cup when Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante were absent due to injury. The 22-year-old midfielder opened the scoring in the quarter-final against England on December 10. He is the French player who has played the most at the 2022 World Cup, with 503 minutes on the field. Among the players who have started for France, Tchouameni also has the highest pass accuracy rate, up to 93.2%. He also topped the tournament with 12 situations to cut the opponent's pass.
Mbappe and Messi is the awaited competition in the final, when the two PSG stars have both scored five goals and led the race to the top scorer. These two "number 10" players are still in the top group in the number of passes, shots or opportunities for teammates. In the last two World Cups, both have scored 11 goals.
The final match of the World Cup 2022 will take place on the evening of December 18 at Lusail Stadium. Strikers Olivier Giroud and Julian Alvarez also have a chance to become top scorers when both have scored four goals. Center-back Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez also faced off, when they were teammates at Man Utd club, in addition to the pairs Adrien Rabiot - Leandro Paredes, Angel di Maria (Juventus), Griezmann - Rodrigo de Paul, Nahuel Molina, Angel Correa (Atletico Madrid) or Hugo Lloris - Cristian Romero (Tottenham).
France and Argentina will also compete for a third World Cup title. Only three teams have won more than three world titles: Brazil five times, Germany and Italy four times.
