Thailand-LV Erik Ten Hag says Manchester United still made a lot of mistakes and were not at their best when they beat Liverpool 4-0 in a friendly match on the evening of July 12.

"The whole team did well, but we know we're just getting started," Shihag said after the win at Rajamangala in Bangkok. "Liverpool have three teams, not the strongest team. So I will not overestimate this result."

Yesterday United started with their strongest squad, while Liverpool used a number of youngsters alongside striker Luis Diaz, midfielder Jordan Henderson and goalkeeper Allison Becker. United dominated the first 33 minutes and scored three goals thanks to Sancho, Fred and Marchal.

After that, Shihag replaced 10 players and only kept goalkeeper David DeGea, which made the game more balanced. From the 60th minute, Klopp pushed the likes of Van Dyke, Mohamed Salah, Andrew Robertson, Alexander-Arnold, Thiago or Fabinho into the field.

But Liverpool not only failed to score, but also scored another goal in the 76th minute. Eric Bailly carries the ball from home to Amad Diallo. He led by a couple of beats before passing to 20-year-old midfielder Facundo Pellistri to complete a close-range corner for United 4-0.

Ten Hargreaves believes Manchester United made some mistakes in oppression and allowed opponents to create many opportunities. "But I also see something very good. The front-line players are quick and creative," added the Dutch coach. "We must try to eliminate mistakes. I know Manchester United have excellent players and I was very satisfied with the first game."

Jurgen Klopp, meanwhile, accepted defeat and was surprised by Liverpool's error. In this game, the runners-up in Champions League and Premier League hit the wooden frame four times. "The game was even more spectacular because Liverpool's mistakes helped the opposition score. To be honest, it was like an assist. And Manchester United took good advantage of the opportunity," analysed the German coach.

Klopp believes many Liverpool players were not at their best when they first teamed up last week and has defended Darwin Nunez. The $105 million rookie missed a good chance at the end of the second half when he kicked into the sky after Mohamed Salah was hit in the heart. "Nunez only practiced three lessons and after the third sprint his lungs were almost ready to explode," Klopp said. "But Nunez moves hard and his teammates want to poke an open space. This is one of Nunez's strengths."

After this match, Man Utd will fly to Australia and meet Melbourne Victory on July 15, Crystal Palace on July 19 in Melbourne and Aston Villa in Perth on July 23. Liverpool will play Crystal Palace in Singapore on July 15 and RB Leipzig in Germany on July 21.
