IndonesiaHLV Salvador Valero Garcia regretted being held by Indonesia 0-0 in the evening of 6/7 and could not occupy Vietnam's peak in U19 Southeast Asia.

The draw makes Thailand unable to improve the second place in Group A. They have seven points but less than Vietnam, the goal difference (+4 compared to +7). Valero said that this was the first time Thailand played on the pitch with more than 17,000 spectators cheering for Indonesia. That made some of his students lack confidence in highly approaching the opponent. The Spanish coach said that Thailand was overwhelmed in the first half, but playing better in the second half. "Unfortunately, we wasted the chance of winning the host," he said.

Thailand had two more matches against Brunei on July 8 and Vietnam two days later. "We will try to win as much as possible before Brunei, and play well and then win Vietnam in the last round," he emphasized.

Only four teams competed in two, including Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar and Indonesia. The Philippines and Brunei after three losses, certainly eliminated.

Vietnam meets Myanmar at the next round of 8/7. Even in the lead, the middle of the South Ding has the number of winning goals in Indonesia. Thailand can make it through Vietnam to take the top of the next fight if it wins Brunei. In that case, Vietnam will have to win Thailand at the last turn to move on.

The 2022 Southeast Asia U19 Championship will be held in Jakarta and Bekasi, Indonesia from July 2 to 15. Eleven teams were divided into two groups for round robin competition, and four teams were selected to enter the semi-finals. The competition density is once every two days.

Vietnam won the championship only once in 2007 with Nguyen Trong Hoang, Le Van Thang or Hoang Van Binh. The team lost four times in the final, in 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Vietnam has not reached the semi-finals in the past three seasons.
