Thailand calls two players from Europe to play SEA Games
Two stars from Europe are Achitpol Keereerom - a striker who plays for Augsburg II in the German fourth division, and Chayapipat Supunpasuch - a midfielder of Praiense in the Portuguese fourth division. Both played 16 club matches this season, of which Achitpol played 566 minutes, scoring twice, while Chayapipat played 591 minutes.
Both were born in 2001 and joined U23 Thailand in the final round of U23 Asia 2022. Chayapipat is also a member of the main squad that won the 31st SEA Games silver medal.
The 29 players summoned by coach Issara Sritaro on this occasion come from 20 clubs. Among them are 19 people who just attended the Doha Cup training tournament in Qatar in March. In addition to the two players in Europe, the team composition includes 15 players in the Thai League 1 national championship and 12 people in Thai League 2. .
However, Thailand will not have the number one star Suphanat Mueanta. The 20-year-old striker is injured and will be sent to Europe by the owner club Buriram United for training after the 2022-2023 season ends. However, coach Sritaro is satisfied with the current squad, highly appreciates the cooperation of the clubs and confidently wins the 32nd SEA Games gold medal.
U22 Thailand will reunite from April 20 with a health check in Bangkok, then move to Pattana Sports Center in Chonburi to practice. Coach Sritaro will finalize the list of 20 players and then go to Cambodia on April 27.
