Thailand Losing to Taiwan 0-3 at Buriram Stadium, Thailand missed the second qualifying round of the Asian Women's U20 2024.

In the last round of Group E, the first qualifying round of the Asian Women's U20, Thailand was forced to win against Taiwan to continue, but they lost heavily. Chou Chieh-ni opened the scoring for the visitors in the sixth minute, before Liu Yu-chiao doubled the lead early in the second half. Thailand's desire to continue disappeared when Parrichat's own goal set a 3-0 victory for Taiwan.

This result helps Taiwan continue after two wins in Group E, scoring 17 goals and not conceding a single time. In the opening match, they beat Tajikistan to 14-0. And Thailand won Tajikistan 5-0 in the first match, before losing to Taiwan. Since there is only one place in each group, the host of Group E is eliminated.

This is the first time Thailand has stopped in the first qualifying round of the Asian women's U20, since 2006. At that time, the tournament had not been divided into two stages, and they were eliminated due to the same group as Australia.

Thailand also lost to Taiwan for the first time in this tournament, after five wins, scoring 11 goals and conceding only twice. This is the fourth time in 11 tournaments that Thailand has not been able to make it to the final round.

The first qualifying round of the Asian Women's U20 2024 took place from March 6 to March 12, with 31 teams divided into eight groups, choosing the top eight teams to go on. Vietnam is the host in Group F, along with India, Indonesia and Singapore. Akira Ijiri's army won Indonesia 3-0, Singapore 11-0 and drew India 1-1. The host continues in Group F with seven points like India, but scored more than one goal.

The eight teams that qualified for the first round are Australia, China, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal, Iran, Lebanon and Taiwan. These eight teams will be divided into two groups in the second qualifying round, playing a round-robin match from June 3 to June 11, selecting the top two teams from each group to advance to the final round. Japan, South Korea and North Korea entered the final round with host Uzbekistan, thanks to their high performance in the last tournament in 2019.

The draw for the second qualifying round took place at the headquarters of the Asian Football Confederation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Vietnam is in group two with Myanmar, while Australia and China are in group one. In the last two periods, Vietnam has qualified.
