On July 1, the World Football Federation (FIFA) announced that it would apply a semi -automatic Vietnamese capture technology at the 2022 World Cup.

FIFA was first shown on its semi -automatic Vietnamese technology in 2019, and tested the technology at the Arab Cup in Qatar last year, and FIFA Club World Cup in the UAE earlier this year. Some tests also took place on Man City's Etihad field.

This technology is based on 12 specialized cameras mounted under the roof of the stadium, and all synchronized. Optical monitoring data reviews 29 points of data moving for each player and the position of the ball, analyzed at 50 times per second.

The ball is used at the 2022 World Cup, Al Rihla, there is a data sensor 500 times per second to the Var room. These two technologies combine to monitor the movement of each player and "the time when the ball leaves the foot" in real time by using artificial intelligence.

VAR will receive a warning if the system detects offside, thereby reviewing the situation manually and advising the referee - who can still go to the border to review the ball.

FIFA estimates that this technology will help reduce the decision time from 70 seconds by reviewing the current border tape to 20 to 25 seconds. In addition, FIFA also intends to let the audience present in the stands as well as the followers via television to see a 3D illustration of the decision, most likely in the next break after the situation.

Pierluigi Collina - Chairman of the FIFA Arbitration Council - hopes this new offside -catching technology will be "praised" and accepted as Goal -Line technology (GLT), with similar errors. The former famous referee said from 3 centimeters when introduced, GLT showed exactly "to a few millimeters".

Collina also emphasized that the referee on the field and the Var team are still important people in confirming the decisions and managing the expectations of the new system's speed. He said: "I have heard a lot about the phrase of the robot, but everything is not like that. The referees on the field still make a decision, because the technology only determines whether the players are offside or not." .

In addition, he said that the evaluation of disputes on the field is still the responsibility of the referees. This new technology cannot determine its offside within four or five seconds, but will be faster and more accurate. Those are goals of semi -automatic Vietnamese technology.
