Oleksy overcame two famous players Richarlison and Dimitri Payet to win the prestigious FIFA award. He is the first disabled player to receive this honor.
The goal that helped Oleksy win the award was scored by him for Warta Poznan against Stal Rzeszow on November 6, 2022. Receiving a cross from a teammate with his back to the goal, Oleksy jumped with his right foot and used that same foot to perform a bicycle-style upside-down hook.

Oleksy is an amateur footballer in Poland with his main job in the construction industry. At the age of 23, when he was a road worker, an accident happened. Oleksy's left leg was crushed by a machine and had to be amputated.
