The former coach of Novak Djokovic, Bogdan Obradovic affirmed that Serbian player often dreams of 30 Grand Slam milestones at the peak of his career.

Obradovic was one of Djokovic's first mentors in Belgrade. He first coached Djokovic when he was nine years old, then collaborated for the second time when he was 13 and was a mentor for the next 18 years.

"Every time he sits down and talks to me, Djokovic mentions 30 Grand Slams," Obradovic revealed his former student's ambitions. "This is his goal. If Djokovic plays for another five years, he has 20 chances to win the championship and can reach that number."

Djokovic has just won his 21st Grand Slam at Wimbledon. It was the 35-year-old's fourth straight Grassland Grand Slam title in seven titles. He trails Roger Federer's coronation record just once. Djokovic became the Australian Open record holder with nine final wins. He won the U.S. Open three times and lifted the trophy twice at the French Open.

Djokovic is one champion behind Rafael Nadal's Grand Slam record. He was unable to compete in all four Grand Slam events this year due to his decision not to be vaccinated against Covid-19. Djokovic was deported from Australia earlier this year and is likely to miss next month's US Open.

"Djokovic wants to work miracles before he retires," Obradovic added. "He broke the number of weeks record ranked first, and the records of 1000 Masters and Grand Slam are the most important. Even if the schedule is interrupted, Djokovic has the ability to win more glory in the next few years."

Djokovic was held by the Belgrade government on July 12, after bringing the 21st Grand Slam title to his hometown of Serbia. He will take a summer vacation with his family in the coming weeks, while waiting for the opportunity to attend the United States - the last Grand Slam in the year of the year to start on August 31.
