Nam Dinh coach Makram Daboub tested his playing style and personnel so he was not surprised when he conceded against Vietnam in a friendly match at Thien Truong Stadium on the evening of September 11.

"We played high pressing so we exposed space behind the defense," coach Daboub said at the press conference after the 0-2 loss. "Vietnamese strikers exploited well and scored two goals."

In this match, Palestine played fiercely, somewhat limiting the host's attacking power, especially in the first half. It wasn't until the 62nd minute that from Nguyen Hoang Duc's slot pass, Cong Phuong broke the offside trap and then punched the ball over the Palestinian goalkeeper's head to open the score. In the 79th minute, Nguyen Van Toan accelerated on the right wing to catch a long pass, passed a defender and crossed for Pham Tuan Hai to double the gap. In between was the situation where Tuan Hai sneaked behind two midfielders but hit the goalkeeper in a face-to-face position.

Despite the loss, Coach Daboub assessed that Palestine played well and admitted that the home team played hard and fiercely. In addition to letting Vietnam exploit the space, the Tunisian coach said that the high humidity in Nam Dinh caused the players to not have time to adapt, so their physical strength quickly decreased.

He also said that, in the first half, Palestine lost two players due to injury, right back Musab Al Battat and midfielder Michel Termanini, so their playing style was affected. "We were also missing four pillars before going to Vietnam," Daboub said. "I create opportunities for new players to aim for more important goals."

This is the first time Palestine lost to Vietnam, after winning 3-1 in a friendly match in 2014. They also experienced their third consecutive loss after losing to China 0-2 and Oman 1-2.
