Coach Mai Duc Chung will train with the players in Japan, Germany and New Zealand, before competing in the group stage of the 2023 Women's World Cup.

In the first women's World Cup final, Vietnam is in Group E with the defending champion USA, the defending runner-up Netherlands and the play-off winner between Portugal and Cameroon today. According to coach Mai Duc Chung, this table is difficult, but this is a golden opportunity for the Vietnamese women's team to accumulate experience, because "even if you spend a lot of money, you can't invite the main team of the US or the Netherlands to a friendly match." .

To prepare for the first time participating in the World Cup finals of the women's team, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) decided to send the team to international training three times. In the first phase, the team will forge troops in Japan from April 17 to April 30, kicking two to three matches against the clubs of the country of the rising sun.

The second international training trip took place from June 5 to June 25 in Germany. On this occasion, the women's team will play a friendly match against Germany and two more matches against clubs. In July, the team traveled to New Zealand - co-host of the 2023 World Cup - for training to adapt to the climate. During 11 days of training here from July 6 to July 17, the team played two friendly matches against the host New Zealand and Spain.

The Vietnamese women's team will start the 2023 World Cup with a match against the defending champion USA on July 22. The next two matches will take place on July 27 and August 1.

Vietnamese female players currently compete in the National Cup. Therefore, the team will gather and train in the country on March 10 to prepare to compete in the first qualifying round of the Paris Olympic Games from April 3. In addition to preparing for the World Cup, Mr. Mai Duc Chung's teachers and students were also assigned the target of defending the gold medal at the 32nd SEA Games held in Cambodia in May.
