After more than a year of practice, the quality of members has improved dramatically. Thai Binh Runners decided to register to compete in the team category at the MetaSports Marathon Hanoi Midnight night run, which will take place on the night of November 25 and early morning of November 26.

The criteria to become a team racer is quite simple: to be an official member of TBR, to want to compete and contribute under the national flag.

"This year, the club's management board proactively planned early. After gathering, Thai Binh Runners had two squads to compete in this content," said runner Duong Viet Hung, the club's representative. The member selection process is no longer as difficult as last year because the number of runners is increasing.

With two completed squads, Thai Binh's representative sets a goal of having one team reach the top 5, the other team towards the top 10. According to Hung, this is a challenging but reasonable goal when Thai Binh Runners own own 5 runners running full marathon with sub3 achievements (under 3 hours); over 10 people achieved sub3:30 and 5 female athletes achieved sub4.

"Besides the expectation of achievements, our most important goal is to create cohesion among the members, spread the love of running, and show the love for the homeland," said Hung. The team's slogan is "Thai Binh, why are you so in love".

This year, when the running movement flourished in all districts, towns and cities, they decided to gather in a group." Currently, the group is in the process of gathering members with the following criteria: living in clubs in the province, prioritizing those with stable spirit, responsibility and achievements. The team aims to be in the top 3 overall in the team category.

After enough members, Quang Ninh Runners will have a training plan based on the actual achievements of each person. "We strive for a distance of 42km, men will reach the milestone of sub3 to sub3:30, women will reach sub3:30 to sub4:30, the target distance of 21km is sub1:30 to sub2," said Hang.

"This year we have a squad, participating with the main goal of having fun. This is also an opportunity for FPT Corporation employees from all over the world to meet and bond with colleagues," said runner Pham Van Binh, representative of the team. FPT Run club said.

With the characteristics of members working in many different subsidiaries and locations, it is quite difficult to gather members correctly and enough according to the regulations of the organizers, especially finding female "runners" in full distance. marathon. In order to gather a racing team with the number required by the Organizing Committee, Pham Van Binh sent a direct message to each of the high-achieving runners in the units, inviting them to the group.

Currently, FPT Run has enough 25 athletes, including 20 official athletes and 5 reserve athletes. The achievements of the members were quite even, most of them achieved sub4 full marathons and sub2:15 for half marathons. By March 15, the team will finalize the list with the organizers and enter the practice process.

Team competition is a "specialty", only available at MetaSports Marathon Hanoi Midnight. In 2022 for the first time, this content attracted 36 groups to participate. The tournament takes place at the end of the year, so the training process for the team category becomes the focus of many clubs throughout the year.

The race in 2023 is predicted to be even more fierce. The clubs participating in season one have had a lot of experience for themselves and have drawn appropriate tactics. The new club faces also make the tournament more exciting and colorful.

Currently, the registration portal for the team category MetaSports Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2023 is open. Runners who want to participate in this distance need to register during the Super Early Bird period (which ends on March 15). Clubs also close and register members at the aforementioned timeline.
