Today draw round 1/8 Europa League
* Europa League draw: 6pm today, Hanoi time, on MetaSports.
Round of 16 consisted of 16 teams divided into eight pairs, with the eight group winners seeded and eight teams that had just passed the play-off round. As a rule, teams from the same seed or country will not meet, with the top team going to play at home in the second leg.
The heaviest title contenders are Arsenal, Man Utd, Juventus and Roma. In particular, Arsenal did not have to play in the play-off round because they finished first in the group, while Juventus fell from the Champions League and beat Nantes 4-1 through two play-off rounds. Man Utd impressed when defeating Barca with a total score of 4-3, while Roma won RB Salzburg 2-1 on aggregate.
Man Utd will not meet Arsenal due to the same UEFA member union, but can meet Juventus, Roma or Feyenoord - the club currently led by Robin van Persie - in the round of 16. When asked about the possibility of Man Utd playing Feyenoord, the former Dutch striker jokingly replied: "I currently work for Feyenoord and Feyenoord is also my childhood club. It is difficult to choose. But Man Utd won. So many titles, so let Feyenoord win this one."
The draw for the eighth round of the Europa League will take place at 6pm on February 24, Hanoi time, at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The first leg and return round of 1/8 will take place on March 9 and 16.
After that, UEFA continued to draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals on March 17. The quarter-finals will play the first leg on April 13, the return leg takes place a week later. The semi-finals will play the first leg on May 11, the return leg takes place a week later. The final will take place at Puskas Arena, Budapest on May 31.
An hour after the draw for the 1/8 round of the Europa League, UEFA will conduct the draw for the 1/8 round of the Europa Conference League.
Similar to the Europa League, teams from the same seed or country will not meet in the 1/8 round of the Europa Conference League, with the top team playing at home in the second leg.
The 1/8 round, quarter-finals and semi-finals of the Europa Conference League will take place on the same day as the corresponding rounds in the Europa League. The final match will take place at Fortuna Arena, Prague on June 7. Last season, Roma beat Feyenoord 1-0 in the final to become the first champions of the Europa Conference League.
The knockout round of two European cups also no longer applies the away table rule, which has existed since 1965. If the matches end in a draw after two legs, the two teams will have to play two more extended extra periods. 15 minutes each half, then penalty kicks if still tied.
