England have completed a one-year loan deal for French midfielder Clement Langlais.

Tottenham will pay 80% of the salary that Lenglet is enjoying at Barca, while the Spanish team pays the rest. The borrowing contract has no terms of purchase.

Due to the decline under the leadership of coach Harvey, Langlais had to look for new challenges. At Tottenham Hotspur, the 27-year-old will complement a defence that already has centre-backs Christian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies.

Lenglet joined Barca from Sevilla in 2018 for $ 39 million. The French player won a La Liga, a King Cup and a Spanish Super Cup with the Camp Nou team. In the national shirt color, Lenglet played 15 matches and scored a goal.

Langlais is Tottenham Hotspur's fifth rookie this summer. It comes after chairman Daniel Levy paid $62 million for striker Richarlison, $31 million for midfielder Yves Bissouma and signed winger Ivan Pericic and goalkeeper Fraser Foster on a free transfer. Tottenham Hotspur are also in talks to buy left-back Pervis Estupinan from Villarreal and Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

Meanwhile, Lenglet left to help Barca partly solve the burden of salary. The Spanish team still needs to release a number of players, or reduce their wages, to meet La Liga's salary regulations. Barca signed a free transfer with Frank Kessie and Andreas Christensen, but could not register to play with the La Liga Organizing Committee due to the ceiling salary fund.

Barca are still in talks to sell Frankie de Jong to Manchester United or Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail. In the opposite direction, Camp Nou could welcome Robert Lewandowski, Rafinha, Jules Kounde and Kalidou Koulibaly.

Barca had financial difficulties due to the debt of more than one billion dollars left since the time of former President Josep Bartomeu. In addition, the revenue decreased in Covid also has a strong impact on spending capabilities.
