Tottenham issues an ultimatum to Kane

Tottenham boss Joe Lewis has asked Harry Kane to sign a new contract or leave this summer.

According to the Telegraph, through Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, Lewis gives Kane two options: sign a new contract or be sold this summer. The owner of the London team does not want the club's number one star to leave when his contract expires next summer.

Kane's situation is similar to what is happening with Kylian Mbappe at PSG. Although Kane did not publicly refuse to renew with Tottenham, Lewis thinks that the England striker may have tacitly agreed with a club to enjoy a huge fee while still playing the last year of his contract and receiving a salary at Tottenham.

This summer, Bayern twice asked Tottenham to sell Kane. The defending champion Germany initially offered a price of $ 76 million with additional fees but was rejected. After that, they raised the amount but still could not convince Tottenham when Levy announced that he would not let Kane leave for less than $ 120 million.

Bild (Germany) once revealed that Tottenham was angry because Kane "went to the night" with Bayern. This is illegal because a player can only negotiate with another club when there is a maximum of six months left on his contract. This suspicion of Tottenham is more grounded when a week ago, Bayern President Uli Hoeness announced that Kane had promised to join the German club.

If Tottenham decide to sell Kane to the highest bidder, it could be an opportunity for Man Utd. Previously, Levy confirmed that he would not sell the main striker to rivals in the English Premier League. However, in the event that the relationship between the two sides cracks, Tottenham may have to sell Kane urgently this summer. Man Utd are looking for a top-class striker and are in the process of negotiating with Atalanta to recruit Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund. Atalanta demanded $78 million for the 20-year-old striker.

According to AS, Kane's wife has been to Munich in recent days, possibly looking for a home. Bayern are ready to offer a long-term contract, four or five years, for the 30-year-old striker and the club's highest salary. To free up the salary fund to recruit Kane, Bayern are also looking to sell Sadio Mane.
