Tran Tuan Kiet won the second stage of the cross-Vietnam cycling tournament
The second leg route from Hanoi to Thanh Hoa is only 110km long, so it is comfortable for the riders to give their best to win the race prizes. Due to holding the Yellow Vest, the An Giang crew controlled the game to protect the title for Russian foreign soldier Petr Rikunov. However, other racing teams still organize attacks continuously to look for opportunities.
A group of six riders successfully escaped, heading for the first prize along the way (sprint 1), with the victory belonging to Tran Thanh Quang - member of Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastics team. Other attacks then created a group of about 10 racers in sprint 2, and the winner was Dang Van Bao Anh, 620 Chau team driver in Vinh Long.
For the rest of the race, the drivers all failed to attack, so the team created a crowd to finish in Thanh Hoa. Dong Thap racers actively matched the squad, pushing the speed up very high to pull the number one sprinter Tran Tuan Kiet into the dispute. Regardless of the efforts of his teammates, Tuan Kiet unleashed powerful cadences to reach the finish line first after 2 hours 44 minutes 22 seconds (average speed 40.154 km/h), winning the race. The runner-up was Nguyen Tan Hoai (Loc Troi Group), while the Yellow Vest Petr Rikunov finished third.
"Today's route is the same as in previous years when it was windy, sunny, hot and very tired," Tuan Kiet said after the race. "When I finished in a large group, our team actively created the pace for me to fight the sprint. I am very happy with this victory."
In second place, Rikunov accumulated 10 points to win the Blue Shirt from Pham Le Xuan Loc and successfully defended the Yellow Shirt after two stages. Pham Le Xuan Loc still wears the White shirt for the best young driver and the Orange shirt for the impressive Vietnamese driver.
Tomorrow 4/4, the third stage race from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An route 140km.
