Qatar's 1-0 victory over France was not enough to help Tunisia continue in the 2022 World Cup, because Australia defeated Denmark in the same match at the same time in the last leg of Group D on November 30.

Before meeting Tunisia on the evening of November 30, France won tickets to the 1/8 round. "Rooster" leads Group D with 6 points after two matches, three points ahead of Australia, while Denmark and Tunisia have only one point. Therefore, in the final match of the group stage, coach Didier Deschamps decided to sit out a series of pillars. Compared to the main team that defeated Denmark 2-1 in the second round a few days ago, he only kept two Raphael Varane and Aurelien Tchouameni.

In the first half, Tunisia soon took advantage of the force advantage. The North African team lost in possession (43% - 57%), but more in shots (3-2) and corners (6-2).

The score could have been 1-0 for Tunisia as early as 8 minutes. Ghandi put the ball in the net for France, but it was disallowed for offside. The African representative missed another chance after 37 minutes. This time, Wahbi Khazri shot into the range of goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.

In France's patchwork squad, Eduardo Camavinga performed the worst. Due to playing in the left-back position, which is not his forte, the Real Madrid midfielder often becomes the target of the opponent's attack.

After the break, Tunisia continued to press the pitch. In the 58th minute, they reaped the results with the opening goal. After a dribble from the middle of the field, Khazri hit Mandanda's net. This is also Tunisia's first goal at the 2022 World Cup.

After the goal, coach Deschamps immediately threw Mbappe onto the field. Minutes 73 and 79, he continued to strengthen Griezmann and Dembele. However, the remaining time is not enough for these three superstars to "heat up". Minutes 90+8, Griezmann was not recognized for the equalizer due to offside.

But despite France, Tunisia only ranked third in Group D with 4 points after three matches. In the match at the same time, Australia beat Denmark 1-0 to protect second place. France shares six points with Australia, but still leads by difference. In Group D, France and Australia entered the 1/8 round.
