Two riders died on the Moto track

Brazil The tragic collision at the Moto Velocidade Championship left two riders dead after being taken to the hospital.

The accident happened at the first corner of the Cascavel International racecourse. 42-year-old driver Andre Verissimo Cardoso lost control and fell in the middle of the road. He immediately stood up, waving his hand to signal the other riders to avoid him. However, Erico Verissimo da Rocha did not see it and crashed straight into Cardoso.

The impact sent Cardoso thrown several meters, before lying motionless. Da Rocha was also unconscious near the accident site. The red flag was immediately raised and the race stopped. The World Motosport Federation implemented procedures to ensure safety, and the two riders involved in the accident were taken to the hospital.

Three hours later, the organizers of the tournament announced the sad news: "Moto 1000 GP is very sad to announce the death of Erico Verissimo da Rocha after a serious accident in the fourth round of the race. After the accident, the racer. was taken to the hospital according to the procedures but could not survive."

A few hours later, a similar announcement about Cardoso was made. "According to the medical notice from the hospital, after the emergency surgery, he was unable to overcome the condition that his heart and respiratory system stopped working," the organizers said.

The death of two riders caused the Moto 1000 GP organizers to cancel all activities in the fourth round of the Motovelocidad Championship. A statement of condolences was sent to the family, friends and fans of the two victims.
