Winning the cup at the age of 15, a record of 66 strokes, 7 strokes from the runner-up... are memorable achievements in the domestic professional golf arena in the first season.

2022 is the starting year of the VGA Tour hosted by the Vietnam Golf Association (VAG). The opening season has five tournaments, including Lexus Challenge, Vietnam National Championship, Vietnam Open, Vietnam Masters and Tour Championship, respectively. The match schedule is from March to December, all on par72.

At the opening of the Lexus Challenge in March, 15-year-old golfer Nguyen Anh Minh created a "blockbuster" when he finished first at +3, thereby becoming the first and youngest amateur champion in professional golf history. Vietnam. Going to Vietnam National Championship in April, Anh Minh repeated this achievement, but at -5.

At the Vietnam Open in September, Anh Minh had the opportunity to score a hat-trick of the championship on the VGA Tour, when he kept the top of the table after round 2, at -2. However, the teen golfer suddenly "lost fire" for the remaining two rounds, hitting 76 and 77 strokes, respectively.

And with such form, Anh Minh finished fourth (point +7) while Joel Troy took the cup at even par. Troy finished first with 67 strokes in the last round. This is also the new ceiling for the achievement of 18 holes on a par72 standard course, while the old mark is at 68 strokes recorded by Nguyen The Anh at the finish line of the Vietnam National Championship.

In October, Nguyen Huu Quyet caught up with the 67-stroke mark, in the second round of the Vietnam Masters. In this tournament, Huu Quyet won the championship thanks to a par shot nearly three meters from the hole when playing the extra hole with Pham Minh Duc.

VGA Tour will enter its second season from February 2023 with a total of seven tournaments and still close the schedule with the grand final of the Tour Championship in December.
