Striker Nguyen Dang Duong (Viettel) used his hand to hit Vo Phuoc Bao (HAGL) in the face and was disqualified from the 2023 National U19 tournament, on the afternoon of April 25.

In the 86th minute, Viettel took a direct free kick to the left, Dang Duong was closely followed by Vo Phuoc Bao and hit the opponent's face with his left hand. Referee Ngo Dac Tien pulled out a second yellow card, which means a red card for the Viettel striker.

Dang Duong's first yellow card took place in the 53rd minute and also collided with Phuoc Bao. Viettel striker entered the ball slower, leading to a foul from behind with HAGL players.

The 2023 National U19 Championship has to witness bad behavior of players in a row. In the home match Tay Ninh beat Da Nang 2-1 yesterday, Mai Quoc Tu stepped on Tran Minh Hy's head and had to receive a red card directly. Da Nang players also face additional punishment from the Disciplinary Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation VFF.

Before the game was short, Viettel was led by HAGL in the 77th minute. From a distance of about 40 meters, Nguyen Hung Khang scored a direct free kick. Goalkeeper Hoang An made a big mistake when he went up a bit high and played unfocused.

In the 90th minute, a HAGL player was hurt to help Viettel balance the numbers on the field, and at the same time was given a direct free kick to the left. Thanh Dat free kick touched Huu Tuan to equalize for Viettel. The goal was controversial because the ball seemed to touch Huu Tuan's right bicep before entering the net.

The 1-1 draw helped Viettel to have four points, equal to Binh Phuoc but leading Group B thanks to a better goal difference. HAGL ranked third, An Giang ranked fourth with the same score.

The third round took place on April 27 at Tay Ninh Sports Training and Competition Center. HAGL was forced to win An Giang, while waiting for the Binh Phuoc - Viettel match to not end with a draw to continue to the quarterfinals.

The National U19 Finals consists of 12 teams divided into three groups to compete in a round robin. The top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarterfinals.
