U20 Vietnam beat Saudi Arabia
Vietnam's opening goal came in the 10th minute. After Quoc Viet's free kick, the Saudi goalkeeper pushed the ball back to the post and Van Khang promptly rushed in to score a goal.
After the goal, coach Hoang Anh Tuan's students were excited, pushed up the squad, actively approached the dispute in the opponent's yard, making it difficult for the host to deploy the ball. At 25 minutes, the team doubled the lead. Van Khang "returns" Quoc Viet with a favorable story for HAGL's players to score.
After letting the opponent shoot outside the penalty area to shorten the gap to 1-2 in the 41st minute, Vietnam played more defensively, successfully blocking the opponent's attacking spearheads. The result of 2-1 was maintained until the end of the match.
Vietnam went to Saudi Arabia on February 15 for training to prepare for the final round of the U20 Asia.
After the end of the friendly match, the team moved to the UAE to continue training. Vietnam will play the last match of Dubai FC on February 23 for coach Hoang Anh Tuan to review the force before entering the competition in the Asian U20 tournament. In this match, the team added Ho Van Cuong, Tran Nam Hai, Dinh Xuan Tien (SLNA), Nguyen Phi Hoang (Da Nang) and Bui Vi Hao (Binh Duong). These 5 players after finishing round 4 of the V-League will fly to the UAE on February 19 to join forces.
The U23 Asian Finals took place in Uzbekistan from March 1 to March 18, with the participation of 16 teams. Vietnam is in Group C, meeting Australia on March 1, Qatar on March 4 and Iran on March 7 respectively.
The 4 semi-finals of the Asian U20 Championship will win tickets to the U20 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia starting in May. Since Indonesia is the host, there is a U20 FIFA World Cup, so if this team enters the top 4 at U20 Asia , the losing teams in the quarterfinals will play against each other to compete for replacement tickets.
Leading Vietnam U20 is coach Hoang Anh Tuan. He used to take Vietnam U19 through the group stage of U19 Asia 2016 despite encountering many strong opponents such as North Korea, Iraq and the UAE. The team then continued to shock when defeating host Bahrain to enter the semi-finals, and also won tickets to the U20 FIFA World Cup in 2017.
