Van Quyet did not enter the V-League's Typical Team of 2023
At the age of 32, Van Quyet is still the most influential player when Hanoi FC finished second in the V-League 2023. He led the capital team in both metrics, scoring nine goals and assisting another nine. After 13 matches, he also became the best domestic scorer in the tournament.
In V-League 2023, Van Quyet was suspended for eight matches for fighting with the assistant referee after Hanoi FC lost 1-3 to Binh Dinh in round 7 of phase I. This is also the main reason why he lost points in V-League 2023 award elections, similar to the case of coach Velizar Popov of Thanh Hoa.
Last season, Van Quyet won the title of V-League's Best Player and entered the Outstanding Team, before winning the 2022 Vietnam Golden Ball.
Van Quyet is absent, but Hanoi FC has two nominations for the typical squad for the striker position, Pham Tuan Hai (6 goals) and Herlison Caion (8). The other two names are top scorer Rafaelson with 16 goals from Binh Dinh, followed by Bruno Cunha with 11 goals from Thanh Hoa.
The list of nominations for the typical squad includes 22 players with three goalkeepers, seven defenders, eight midfielders and four strikers, including 17 domestic players. The only U23 player participating is midfielder Nguyen Thai Son of Thanh Hoa.
Most of the nominations are from the group of eight championship racing teams, only the relegation racing group includes HAGL. Viettel has five players, followed by CAHN (4), Hanoi FC (3), Thanh Hoa (3), Ha Tinh, Binh Dinh (2), Nam Dinh, Hai Phong and HAGL (1).
