VFF has not received a bonus from FIFA yet
"Currently we have not received money from FIFA," Mr. Khoi replied on the afternoon of August 8 at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation VFF, about the information that VFF was late in paying FIFA's bonuses. "The amount of bonus money is based on the performance of the teams in each round. Therefore, it must be the end of the rounds or the end of the FIFA tournament to transfer money."
According to FIFA regulations, each Vietnamese player receives 30,000 USD (about 700 million VND) for playing in the group stage of this year's Women's World Cup. FIFA does not transfer directly to each player, but through member associations, due to the different tax payment and procedures for each country.
According to the Law on Emulation and Commendation, individuals and collectives who are rewarded according to the State's regulations such as winning medals or breaking records at SEA Games, ASIAD, Olympic... do not have to pay tax. However, FIFA's money is not in the above group, but belongs to the type of irregular income, so it must pay tax according to regulations. VFF will pay tax according to the guidance of the General Department of Taxation of 10% from the bonus of each player.
"Once the money is received, the VFF will transfer it to the players in accordance with FIFA's instructions, ensuring the documents to later report to FIFA. FIFA's money regulations are very clear. Money for the players will be paid. fair and transparent transfer", Mr. Khoi affirmed.
This is the first time Vietnam has won the right to participate in the World Cup final round. The team stopped in the group stage after losing 0-3 to the US, 0-6 to Portugal and 0-7 to the Netherlands. On August 3, teacher and coach Mai Duc Chung returned home.
In addition to the money from FIFA, the team also received 1.8 billion VND from VFF. As a rule, this amount will be divided by the team according to the level of A, B, C, D based on the contribution level at the tournament of each member.
About this amount, Mr. Khoi said: "In the near future, the team that gathers this money will be disbursed. The team decides the distribution levels by themselves, VFF does not intervene at all."
