Vietnam launched Olympiad chess today

IndiaThe Vietnamese women's team will meet Thailand in the first round of the Chess Olympiad - the world's largest chess tournament - this afternoon 29/7.

The Vietnamese women's chess team consists of five people: Vo Thi Kim Phung (Elo 2,333), Hoang Thi Bao Tram (2,288), Nguyen Thi Mai Hung (2,223), Bach Ngoc Thuy Duong (2,192) and Nguyen Thien Ngan (1,912).

The average Elo of Vietnam is 2,259, the 24th high, and Thailand 1.535, 104th.

Vietnam is absent from the number one player Pham Le Thao Nguyen (2,369). And the male team did not attend this tournament due to the top players, though ranked seventh in the nearest 2018 in Batumi, Georgia. China, Russia and Belarus also have no teams.

The teams all fought 11 Swiss matches, each day, except on 4/8 holidays. In each match, the team sent four players on four chessboard. The team won one point, drew half a point and lost. The competition time is 90 minutes for the first 40 countries, 30 minutes for the rest of the game, and another 30 seconds after each country. Every day the exam takes place at 16:30, Hanoi time, the last day of 9/8 plays from 11:30.

Chess Olympiad 2022 takes place from July 29 to August 9 in Chennai, India, gathering 1,736 players from 186 countries and territories. The female table has 799 athletes from 160 delegations, and the owner is entitled to send three teams to attend. According to the standard Elo standard, Vietnam ranked 24th, with Elo 2.259. India is the number one seed with an average ELO of 2,486.

At Olympiad 2018, Vietnamese women are the seed No. 19, and ranked 15th in the end. Bao Tram, Kim Phung, Mai Hung and Thuy Duong are members of the team four years ago.
