Philippines Tuyen Dung, Huynh Nhu and Hai Yen helped Vietnam crush Myanmar 4-0 to reach the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian Championship as the first group B.

After the great victory of Laos (3-0), Cambodia (5-0) and Timor Leste (7-0), Vietnam won tickets to the semi-finals early. In the last match against Myanmar, teachers and coach Mai Duc Chung just need to preserve the first place in the table. And the defending champion team made more than that with a 4-0 afternoon of July 13.

The result helped Vietnam to an absolute 12-point tally in four games, scoring 18 goals without conceding. In the semi-final on July 15th, Vietnam meets the host Philippines-the second place in Group A, and Myanmar meets Thailand.

Myanmar is considered as Vietnam's main rival. Before this confrontation, they had won all three matches and only finished second in Group B because of the loss of goal difference (+11 vs. +14). However, that is not why they are more appreciated than Vietnam. In the last five confrontations between the two teams, Myanmar won one, drew one and lost three.

In fact, on the field also proves the difference in class between the two teams. After pressing and missing some opportunities, the 16th minute Vietnam opened the score. From the horizontal stretch on the left wing of Nguyen Thi My Anh, the goalkeeper of Myanmar handled badly, so that midfielder Tuyet Dung scored. About 20 minutes later, the difference was doubled for Vietnam. After being fouled in the penalty area, Tuyet Dung personally successfully performed a penalty. Myanmar goalkeeper guessed in the right direction, but could not stop the sinking of the Ha Nam midfielder.

Vietnam led 3-0 before the end of the first half. Midfielder Chuong Thi Kieu passes a free-kick from home to Huynh Nhu. The Vietnam captain's forward was well controlled and beat the Myanmar goalkeeper face to face.

With a safe distance, Vietnam played at the top but still dominated the match and created many opportunities in the second half. In the 47th minute, Huynh Nhu stood a chance to score a double, but hit the Myanmar goalkeeper. The next delicious opportunities belonged to Truc Huong, but both times were incorrectly finished.

About the last 10 minutes, Myanmar showed signs of surrender, while Vietnam was almost just waiting for the whistle to end. However, the army of coach Mai Duc Chung still scored one more goal, in the 89th minute thanks to the striker Hai Yen.
