Vietnam women's volleyball team adds 2 "new but old" names ahead of the Challenge Cup 2023
After two important tournaments took place one after another, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team had an important break to recover their fitness, as well as draw on past experience. Ending the 32nd SEA Games with a silver medal, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team returned to Quang Ninh to continue preparing for the 2023 Challenge Cup.
In addition to the 14 names that have just attended the Asian Women's Club Championship and the 2023 SEA Games, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has two more "new but old" additions, Nguyen Thi Uyen (Geleximco Thai Binh) and Nguyen Thi Kim Lien (Ninh Binh LienVietPostBank).
These are two players who have trained with the team before, but they were not selected by coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet in the past two tournaments. Thus, in addition to the two injured players, Bich Tuyen and Luu Thi Hue, the players who are training in Quang Ninh have not changed compared to the list of summons 2 months ago.
However, similar to the men's team, the women's team promises to make adjustments. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet recently said that he is considering calling a few new names to the team, but needs approval from the Volleyball Federation before sending it to the General Department of Sports and Sports to summon.
After nearly a month of training in Quang Ninh, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will depart for Indonesia to attend the Asian Women's Volleyball Challenge Cup 2023 (referred to as Challenge Cup 2023), starting from June 18 to 25.
