22 Mongolian Olympic players - the team in Group B with Vietnam in ASIAD 19 men's soccer - all compete domestically, including two over-age players.

These two players are midfielder Purevdorj Bayartsengel, 26 years old, and midfielder Khurelbaatar Tsend-Ayush, 33 years old, who are also the most experienced with 41 matches for the national team. The three players from the U24 group are defender Orkhon Munkh-Orgil, midfielders Tserenbat Baasanjav and Baljinnyam Batmunkh.

Compared to the list for the 2024 U23 Asian qualifiers, coach Ichiro Otsuka only retained 15 players. The most unfortunate absence is full-back Filip Chinzorig Andersen because he was not included in the preliminary list of 30 players sent to the ASIAD 19 organizing committee, so he was not registered.

Chinzorig has dual Danish and Mongolian nationality, grew up at the Brondby youth academy and currently plays in the Czech Republic for Slavia Karlory Vary. He played six matches for the U16 team and three matches for Denmark U19.

Mongolia attended ASIAD for the first time in 1998 in Thailand and ASIAD 19 in Hangzhou, China was the second time. The team will be in Group B with Saudi Arabia, Iran and Vietnam.

Mongolian football is ranked 183rd in FIFA, so it is ranked weakest in the group. In the 2024 Asian U23 qualifiers, the team lost 1-3 to Saudi Arabia, 1-2 Cambodia and drew 1-1 Lebanon. However, the team has strengths in physical strength and dispute ability.

Mongolia will play their opening match against Vietnam on September 19 at Linping Stadium. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan said he is not subjective despite hearing many comments that Mongolia is weaker. The opponent has more experienced players from the national team, while Vietnam has the majority of players from the U20 group.

The match between Mongolia and Vietnam almost decides the top three position in Group B. ASIAD 19 men's soccer has 23 teams divided into six groups with one group consisting of three teams. Teams compete in a round-robin tournament, selecting six first-place teams, six second-place teams and four third-place teams with the best results to enter the 1/8 round.
