Vlahovic helps Juventus to escape defeat
After defeating Udinese 3-0 on the opening day of Serie A, Juventus suddenly faced difficulties in the match against Bologna on the evening of August 27. In the first half of the first half, the team ranked 15th continuously bombarded goalkeeper Mattia Perin's goal. They took advantage of the opportunity in the 24th minute, Lewis Ferguson shot diagonally to open the scoring. It wasn't long before Bologna could have taken a 2-0 lead, if Ferguson's other shot hadn't bounced off Alex Sandro's foot and then missed the post.
Understated in the first half, but Juventus regained the game after the break. The home team was more attacking and had 59% possession. In the 52nd minute, Vlahovic almost equalized. The Serbian striker kicked the ball into goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski's hand and flew into the goal, but was not recognized by VAR due to offside.
Bologna also has problems with VAR. After the situation where Dan Ndoye fell while preparing to cushion the ball in the 5m50 area, the video system said that Samuel Iling-Junior did not commit a foul from behind and refused to give the away team a penalty. Bologna fans reacted furiously to the decision that may have taken away the visitors' goal to make it 2-0.
After escaping the threat of a penalty and receiving a red card, it was Iling-Junior who crossed the ball to assist Juventus in the 80th minute. After receiving the ball, Vlahovic comfortably headed in the middle of the penalty area to net Skorupski. The Serbian striker scored his second goal in two consecutive matches.
After the draw at home, Juventus ranked fifth in Serie A with four points. They are two points behind the top three teams including AC Milan, Napoli and Verona. Meanwhile, Bologna ranked 15th with first point.
