Magnus Carlsen may not protect the throne in the next final, but he will still be recognized as chess.

Carlsen hasn't often criticized how to throw the World chess match together as two board players, the Norwegian chess King wants to beat up the real style and tie-chess match, almost like the World Cup chess, even though you've never been invincible World Cup.

In the World Championship at the end of 2021, Carlsen surprised him when he declared "almost certainly only protecting the throne again, if the challenge of the new generation". While at Candidates 2022, in Madrid, Spain, the two leading the way nearly half the way are Ian Nepomniachtchi and Fabiano Caruana. These two players are the defeat of Carlsen in the World Championship in 2020 and 2018. Candidates winner 2022, will compete with Carlsen next year.

Assessing Carlsen's statement, Caruana said: "I don't care much about those words. Carlsen often says what he thinks, but maybe he will change that thought in the future. No one knows in advance in advance Okay".

According to FIDE's policy, if one of the two players at the championship contest, the person who goes back to Private Candidates will be tuned for replacements. Which means if Carlsen doesn't protect the throne, the final match will be between the leader of Candidates, most likely Nepomniachtchi and Caruana. Was Carlsen still worthy of being a chess King then?

Five 1993, due to FIDE, the Kasparov chess king and who challenged Nigel Short from the Union to play the game of the King's chess Association (PCA) sponsor. Kasparov protects the crown until five 2000, when he loses Kramnik in London, England.

Stage 1993 2005, FIDE's own tournament to choose a world champion, but without the chess King like Kasparov or Kramnik. The stage showed up seven FIDE champions but it wasn't called King, including Karpov, Alexander Khalifman, Anand, Ruslan Ponomariov, Rustam Kasimdzimdzhanov and Veselin Topalov.

To five 2006 at Elista, Russia, new sides organize the Battle of the Kramnik chess king and the FIDE Topalov champ. From then on, FIDE continued to organize the championship games, and the winner is called chess. Except for five 2007, the rest of the finals goes on 12 or 14.

The new history recorded two cases of chess not to protect the throne. The first was Alexander Alekhine in 1948, because he died two years ago. Fischer also refused to protect the throne against Karpov in 1975 in Manila, Philippines, because he did not agree with Fide's 24 -game competition format. Karpov naturally became a new chess king, and he also affirmed his ability to protect the throne many times.

If Carlsen does not protect the throne nor does it intend to organize a battle to protect the throne, one of the two heads of Candidates 2022 will become the next chess like the case of Karpov in 1975. If Carlsen wants to organize a one. Battle, or tournament to protect the throne and win, he will still be chess like Kasparov in 1993.
