When and where will the SEA Games 2025 be held?

Usually the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) are held at the end of the year. But due to the impact of COVID-19, the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam will take place in May 2022. As a result, Cambodia also continued to host the 32nd SEA Games in May 2023. But recently, the Sports Administration of Thailand (SAT) announced that the 2025 SEA Games will take place at the end of the year in Thailand. And to promote Thai tourism, SEA Games 33 is hosted by 3 provinces.

It is expected that the 33rd SEA Games will still bring together all 10 member countries of ASEAN and East Timor. It will be Thailand's first time hosting the SEA Games since 2007. At the 32nd SEA Games, Thailand made great efforts and still finished second in the overall rankings with a total of 312 medals, including 108 gold medals, 96 gold medals. Silver and 108 bronze medals. This achievement is inferior in all aspects compared to Vietnam in the whole group with 355 medals, including 136 gold medals, 105 silver medals and 114 bronze medals. If only counting the number of gold medals in the Olympic program at the 32nd SEA Games, Thailand is also inferior with 56/108 gold medals compared to 61/136 of Vietnam.
