Xuan Truong, Van Thanh were moved to say goodbye to HAGL
After Nguyen Cong Phuong broke up with HAGL to go to Japan, it was the turn of midfielder Xuan Truong and defender Van Thanh to say goodbye to the mountain town team at the end of 2022.
"It's really difficult to sit down and write these lines because my feelings are not easy to describe right now," Xuan Truong shared on his personal page on the afternoon of January 2. "Just one day I was a shy boy, but because of the love of football, I decided to leave my family. It has been 15 years since the day I set foot in Gia Lai land, a time even longer. It's been longer than my childhood, living with my parents. Therefore, I hope everyone will understand why I haven't been able to write down my feelings until today."
Xuan Truong also sent his first thanks to elected Duc, who founded HAGL - JMG academy as well as raised the players to study since the age of 12. "Father Duc is the person with the greatest merit to me, helping me to be successful today," Xuan Truong wrote. "I cherish every moment living and working with everyone. I wish the best for HAGL. Our story will definitely not stop because for me Gia Lai will always be a place to stay. return...".
Xuan Truong was one of the first members of HAGL Academy in 2007, along with Cong Phuong, Nguyen Tuan Anh... In 2015, he and his teammates were promoted to play V-League. Two years in a row, he played for Incheon United club and Gangwon of Korea, respectively, on loan. In 2019, he played for Buriram United, Thailand.
At the national team level, the Tuyen Quang midfielder won the 2018 Asian U23 runner-up and the 2018 AFF Cup. He also won the Vietnam Silver Ball in 2016.
Sharing with MetaSports, Xuan Truong said that he has not closed a new club but it will most likely be Hai Phong Club.
Similar is Van Thanh. He also decided to part ways with HAGL after 15 years of attachment, and is likely to join Nam Dinh. "Thank you for the love and great gratitude of Uncle Ba Duc for Thanh to be like today," Van Thanh shared on his personal page. "Thank you to all members and staff of HAGL Club for accompanying and supporting Thanh over the past time. Wishing the club much success in the new season, Thanh will always support and follow HAGL".
After the 2022 season, a series of HAGL's pillars have expired contracts, only Minh Vuong and Tuan Anh have determined to re-sign. In addition to Xuan Truong, Cong Phuong and Van Thanh, it is likely that Hong Duy also left Pleiku yard to wear a Northern club. Striker Van Toan can go to Korea to wear Seoul E-Land shirt.
