Zion Williamson Injury Update: No Good News for New Orleans Pelicans
Ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans are the final Regular Season matches and after that, they will enter a tense play-in series. Unfortunately, Zion Williamson will not be able to recover from his injury in time to play with his teammates at this "hot oil" stage.
According to an update from reputable journalist Shams Charania, Zion's condition and injury are not good enough for the New Orleans Pelicans to allow him to play in the next 10-14 days.
As such, Zion Williamson will be absent from the entire play-in series and if he is lucky, he may return provided the Pelicans enter the postseason.
Journalist The Athletic further notes that Zion has no further problems recovering from injury. This decision was made because the medical team of the New Orleans Pelicans wanted to be as perfect as possible with bigman born in 2000.
He has not played any game since January and if everything goes well for both Zion and Pelicans, the team will consider letting him return in the first round of the Playoffs.
Despite the absence of Zion Williamson, the New Orleans Pelicans are still experiencing an impressive revival. They won 8 of the last 10 matches and are currently ranked 8th in the Western rankings.
The last series of matches has very impressive victories including 2 times defeating the LA Clippers, overcoming the top team Denver Nuggets or the runner-up Memphis Grizzlies.
It is likely that this sublimation series has created confidence for the Pelicans, aiming for the team to be able to get through the play-in series without Zion's service.
However, New Orleans Pelicans fans still hope Zion Williamson can re-appear because when this 23-year-old bigman was present, the "pelicans" competed more sublimely than usual.
Zion is averaging 26.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game, a set of stats enough to put him in this year's All-Star starting lineup (though Williamson didn't play through injury).
