The Croatian Second Division is composed of 12 teams and adopts a double round-robin system of home and away games. Each team plays 34 games throughout the season. The point calculation method for a single game is that the winner gets 3 points, the loser gets 0 points, and the draw gets 1 point for each side. If the points are the same, the ranking will be distinguished by goal difference. In the end, the top-ranked team will be promoted to the Croatian First Division next season, the last one will be relegated to the Croatian third-level league, and the second-to-last team will have a relegation playoff.
